Topics inside this course
Awareness and induction depth — not an accredited occupational qualification.
- First actions: make safe, first aid, emergency services
- Who must be told and how fast
- Why late reporting harms the injured person
- Not admitting liability or investigating on the floor
- How this sits beside OHSA and first-aid awareness
Built for the people who take the training
All employees and supervisors in South African workplaces where COIDA may apply — offices included, not only plant.
What learners leave able to do
- Make the scene safer and get first aid or emergency services without delay
- Report the injury through the organisation’s channel the same day
- Avoid arguing liability or suppressing a “minor” incident
- Know that claim forms exist and who owns them — not how to be a claims clerk
Modules you can expect
Structure may tighten when you localise from your own source pack in Kre8AI — this is the shape of the library title.
- 1Someone is hurt
First actions that matter more than the paperwork.
- 2Tell the right people
Supervisor, health and safety, HR — same day.
- 3Why COIDA exists
Compensation is a process; delay is not kindness.
- 4Forms have owners
Staff raise the alarm; named people complete W.Cl. forms.
- 5Knowledge check
Short scored assessment for induction.
Short scored assessment. Complements OHSA and first-aid awareness. Does not certify first-aiders or claims administrators.
Written for the workplace, not for the statute book alone
Injury reporting fails when people treat a sprain as embarrassment or a “near miss that worked out”. This course is the staff layer of COIDA: make safe, get help, tell the organisation, and do not sit on the incident until Friday.
Supervisors learn that arguing fault on the floor, or asking someone to “walk it off”, is how claims and trust both fail. Employees learn that reporting is not snitching — it is how medical costs and time off are meant to be handled.
It does not teach anyone to complete the entire Compensation Fund form set, and it does not replace accredited first-aid training. Use it as the organisation-wide reporting layer, then keep form ownership with the people your procedure names.
Generate in Kre8AI from COIDA extracts and your incident SOP so the contact tree matches your sites, including after hours. Publish as SCORM or HTML. Keep the optional coach off the assessment.
Pair it with the OHSA awareness and first-aid awareness titles rather than stuffing three courses into one. Re-export when your incident form or first-aider list changes.
Play the library demo, or build COIDA injury reporting from your own procedure pack in Kre8AI.
What you would upload in Kre8AI
COIDA guidance, incident forms, H&S procedure
- COIDA 130 of 1993 (coverage and reporting duties at a high level)
- Compensation Fund / DEL reporting guidance and form overview
- Your incident procedure, first-aider list and emergency numbers
Formats, coach and provenance
- Standalone HTML to play in the browser; SCORM 2004 for your LMS.
- Optional AI course coach on Growth and Scale — grounded in approved material; off on quizzes and final assessment by default. Course plays offline; coach needs a network.
- Built in Kre8AI and reviewed before we published it. Not a substitute for your organisation's own policy — review before you make it mandatory.
