Build AI courses for SAP SuccessFactors Learning

SuccessFactors Learning is a serious compliance system with a content model to match. Kre8AI produces the course from your own policies with every claim traceable, and hands SuccessFactors a SCORM package to attach to an item.

Step one

Build the course, then export it

The course is built from your own documents and cannot be published until a person has approved it. What you end up with is a single zip file.

    Finish review and approve every module

    Publishing stays locked until each module is approved. That is deliberate: the export is the point where the course stops being a draft, and the audit trail records who approved what and when.

    Choose your package format

    SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 4th edition, xAPI, cmi5, or a standalone HTML file that runs with no platform at all.

    Download the zip

    One file, containing the course, its media, the manifest your LMS reads and the tracking bridge that reports progress back.

    Do not unzip it and do not rezip the extracted folder. An LMS reads the manifest at the root of the archive, and rezipping usually buries it one directory down.

Which format for SAP SuccessFactors

SCORM 1.2 unless your learning administrators have standardised on 2004. Match whatever the rest of your content library uses, because consistency matters more here than format features.

xAPI and cmi5 ship as packaging. The player wires the SCORM tracking bridge rather than streaming live statements to an LRS, so if your reporting depends on a live statement flow, raise it before you start.

Step two

Import it into SAP SuccessFactors

The same package works in every platform that reads SCORM. These are the steps in SAP SuccessFactors's own vocabulary.

    Import the package into your content repository

    SuccessFactors keeps content separately from the thing learners are assigned. The first step is getting the Kre8AI archive into the content repository as a content object.

    Create or open the item learners are assigned

    An item is what appears in a learning plan and what completion is recorded against. This is a distinct record from the content you just imported.

  3. 3

    Attach the content object to the item

    Link the imported content to the item and set its launch behaviour. This attachment is the step people miss, and it produces an item that exists and launches nothing.

    Set completion and any compliance behaviour

    Decide what completion means for the item and wire up retraining or expiry if the training is periodic. Then complete it once as a test learner and confirm the record lands.

SuccessFactors Learning administration varies significantly with release and configuration, and content can be hosted in different places depending on how your instance is set up. The content-object-then-item sequence above is the part that holds regardless. We would rather walk your specific configuration with you than publish a menu path that does not match your tenant.

What catches people out in SAP SuccessFactors

Content and item are two different records

Almost every failed import in SuccessFactors is a content object that imported correctly and was never attached to an item. If the item launches nothing, start there.

Retraining rules are the reason you are here

Most SuccessFactors training exists because something expires. Set the retraining period on the item deliberately, and regenerate the course in Kre8AI when the underlying policy changes rather than when the calendar says so.

The auditor's question is not answered by the LMS

SuccessFactors proves a learner completed training on a date. It cannot tell you the training was correct. The citation behind each slide and the approval record in Kre8AI are what answer that.

Does this need an SAP integration?
No. This is the standards route: Kre8AI exports SCORM, and SuccessFactors imports SCORM content. Nothing has to be connected between the two systems for it to work.
Our compliance team needs to know who wrote the course. What do we tell them?
That an author approved the structure before anything was generated, that every generated statement carries the source document and page it was built from, that a named reviewer approved each module, and that publishing was blocked until they did. Kre8AI records all of it.
Can we test it before involving procurement?
Yes. Download the sample SCORM package from the site and import it into a sandbox instance. It is the fastest way to answer the integration question without a single meeting.
